The source text of this translation project is excerpted from Confusion of Civilization: The Way Out for Tibetan Education, authored by Badeng Nima.As for the translation work, the author is mainly responsible for Section Three of Chapter Six of the source text.Based on the Skopos Theory, the author tries to analyze the difficulties and seek solutions during the translation process from the lexical level and syntactical level. In the source text, there are a large number of words related to philosophy as well as long and complex sentences without subjects that become difficult to translate. Therefore, the author has employed some translation methods such as addition and conversion of phrases and sentence structures in translation on the basis of the Skopos Theory. This translation project consists of five parts: the introduction to the translation work, the process of description, the theoretical basis, the case study and the conclusion. The first part introduces the author, the contents, the features and the significance of the original work. The second part presents the preparatory work before translation, the process of translation, and some associated materials after translation. The third part discusses the definition, the development and the three rules of the Skopos Theory. The fourth part is the main body of this report and case studies. In the last part, the author summarizes the difficulties encountered in the translation practice, explains the limitations and offers suggestions for future studies.
