Chinese Modal verbs play an important role in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In the teaching practice of Mongolia,the author finds that Mongolian students often make mistakes in the use of modal verbs in the classroom and daily communication.Therefore,this paper takes the students in the primary stage of Mongolian Humanities University as the research object,and makes a questionnaire survey to understand their use of Chinese modal verbs.The results show that there are many errors in the use of Chinese modal verbs by students in the primary stage of Mongolian Humanities University,especially the difficulty in grasping the meanings and cross-meanings of Chinese modal verbs,which leads to the misuse of modal verbs.In order to reduce the errors of Mongolian students in using Chinese modal verbs and improve the teaching efficiency of Chinese modal verbs as a foreign language,this paper takes eight Chinese modal verbs as research objects according to the Chinese modal verbs that often appear in Mongolian students' elementary textbooks.On the basis of the errors of the modal verbs and their causes,this paper puts forward some feasible teaching strategies.This paper consists of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction first discusses the reasons for choosing this topic and the significance of the research.Then it summarizes the ontology of Chinese modal verbs and the research results of Chinese modal verbs in TCFL.Finally,it explains the research contents and research methods.The text includes four aspects.The first part is a survey of Mongolian students' use of Chinese modal verbs and their learning of Chinese in Humanities University.The second part classifies the errors of Mongolian students in acquiring Chinese modal verbs,Through the analysis of the survey results in the first part,the errors of Mongolian students' acquisition of Chinese modal verbs can be roughly summarized into four categories: confusion of the meaning of Chinese modal verbs,inappropriate negative use of Chinese modal verbs,inappropriate position of Chinese modal verbs and other errors.The third part analyses the main reasons for the errors of the modal verbs,namely,the difficulty of the modal verbs themselves,the negative transfer of mother tongue,the negative transfer of the target language,the attitude of the learners themselves,the influence of communicative strategies and teaching methods.The fourth part puts forward the teaching strategies for Mongolian students to acquire Chinese modal verbs,including strengthening comparative teaching,paying attention to situational teaching,designing exercises reasonably,summarizing common errors in classification and improving the compilation of modal verbs in textbooks.The conclusion part summarizes the research results of this paper and briefly discusses the shortcomings and future research expectations of this paper.
