With the rapid development of the economy,global cultural exchanges have an unstoppable trend,and exchanges among countries around the world are becoming more frequent.So,in many kinds of cultural exchange,the role of the translator is more and more important,and research on translation has gradually deepened.Nowadays,in the research process of translation theory,there are also diverse selections of translation themes.Many scholars have discussed the translation of humanistic texts.What kind of translation strategy should be adopted for the translation of humanistic texts.Nida's functional equivalence theory emphasizes the most natural equivalence between the original information and the translated language.This theory can effectively guide the translation of humanistic texts.This report is based on the Humanistic Tradition:Medieval Europe and Another World translation,and the author is the master of American literary studies,Gloria K.Fellow,and the translator selected approximately 10,000 words as the text of the translation practice report.Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,the translator adopted the example analysis method to analyze the vocabulary,sentences and discourses of the translation.Through the analysis of these cases,the translator discussed the practical significance of functional equivalence theory for the translation of humanistic books.Through continuous research on translation,the research scope of future humanistic text translation will be further expanded.In the process of translation,it is very important for the translator to think that it is appropriate to handle relevant information and to use translation skills flexibly.On the basis of respecting the original language,it effectively achieves the equivalence between the original language and the translated language,so that the readers can better understand the original text.Finally,through this practice summary,the translator hopes to improve the level of his own translation,while also provides useful references for other translators.
