| Based on the theory of text typology,the translation report attempted to explore the translation skills by which the “authenticity,accuracy and normativity” of informative text can be presented.In addition,the translation standards of “faithfulness,expressiveness and elegance” are harnessed to examine the target text.The translation material is derived from Chapter Thirteen to Chapter Sixteen of the book,The Culture Code: The Secrets of Highly Successful Groups,which was written by Daniel Coyle,a famous American bestselling writer.Within 60,000 words,the author of the book makes an in-depth analysis of some of the most successful groups,such as U.S.Navy’s SEALS Team Six,San Antonio Spurs,IDEAL Pixar and more,and reveals the reasons of these successful groups.It’s under the guidance of Katharina Reiss’ s text typology that the translator initiated the translation report.According to the theory,this source text belongs to the informative text.Given that the most important features of informative text are authenticity,accuracy and normativity,the author of this report adopts different translation skills to represent these features of the informative text.The whole translation report includes four parts.The first part introduces the source of translation task,a brief introduction of the source text and the significance of the translation.The second part is mainly about the process of translation including theory preparation,the analysis of the source text,translation process and revision.From the perspectives of authenticity,accuracy and normativity,the third part illustrates how to represent the features of informative text by using different translation skills in the target language with 25 typical examples.The fourth part summarizes what the translator has gained,and depicts a prospectfor her future work. |
