A Report On The Interpreting Of The Conference Of Israeli Modern Agriculture Project

This report is based on the reporter's experience of consecutive interpreting in the conference of Israel Modern Agriculture Changzhou Project jointly organized by Jiangsu International Science and Technology Center and Jiangsu Association for Rural Professional Technology.This report focuses on three main issues in the work of consecutive interpreting,that is,the improper understanding of relative concepts and topics,the incoherence of interpreter's speech output and the imbalance between quantity and quality.In response to these three issues,the reporter draws on the related concepts of Effort Model and other relative literatures,correspondingly proposes three solutions:First,interpreters should be familiar with the background of the project,be well-prepared for the relevant knowledge and terms;Second,the interpreters should find the internal relationship of the sentences,and adopt appropriate translation strategies such as avoiding unnecessary incoherent expressions to ensure the fluency of the interpreting process;Third,the interpreters should draw on the strategies of omission and refining.Thus,they can make a sound judgement of the source speech,especially for the longer one.By analyzing the transcription of the corpus of recorded texts and summarizing the interpreting practice,the reporter hopes to improve the accuracy and efficiency in the process of information transmitting,and thus can make interpreters better serve as the bridge of communication.
