The improvement of China's international status has made Chinese character culture more and more popular with foreigners.However,the complex strokes and a large number of Chinese characters have become a major difficulty for Chinese learners.Although the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language has been well developed in the past 30 years,the research on Chinese character teaching is relatively stagnant.After a long period of development,Chinese character teaching in primary schools has accumulated rich experience.There are many references for Chinese character teaching in primary schools in China.Secondly,this paper makes an analysis of the feasibility of using literacy teaching method in primary schools in teaching Chinese characters as a foreign language.First,second language acquisition and first language acquisition have the similarity in terms of conditions,processes and purposes.The functional areas of the human brain affect the way in which domestic and foreign students acquire languages.Secondly,students at different ages and personalities affect their choice of learning strategies.Students' different learning motivations also affect teachers' choice of teaching strategies.Thirdly,the teaching of Chinese characters in primary schools and the teaching of Chinese characters to foreigners both follow the same teaching rules.The similarity in the content of Chinese characters teaching also makes the reference of the method effective.Thirdly,this paper applies the literacy method of primary schools in China to the teaching of Chinese characters for foreigners.author collects and collates the Chinese characters teaching methods commonly used by teachers in the class of second grade through a semester's investigation and class practice experience in the primary school attached to Huazhong University of Science and Technology.And the author selects the advanced methods that can be used in the primary stage of foreign students' classroom,using the success to improve the current teaching of foreign Chinese characters.Finally,this paper takes 800 characters of Level A in the Syllabus of Level of Chinese Vocabulary and Chinese Characters as the teaching content,and collate and summarize them from the aspects of glyph and meaning,putting forward specific teaching methods,carrinng out specific teaching design for two hours.I have applied this teaching plan to the class of foreign students of the primary stage during my internship in the School of International Education of Wuhan University and achieve good result.
