This paper, based on the Chinese translation of Infocomm Media 2025,analyzes the application of Skopos theory in translation of Sci-Tech report and discusses the translation strategies of passive sentences in Sci-Tech report. The Skopos Theory can be used to guide the translation of Sci-Tech reports, especially for the passive voice in them. The three Rules can also provide an important basis for the choices of translation strategies. This paper classifies the translation strategies of passive voice in Sci-Tech report into three categories through analysis of several translation examples.First, according to the Fidelity Rule, the passive voice in English should be maintained in Chinese when passive meaning is stressed,or the subject in the passive sentence is closely related to the context.Second,on the basis of Coherence Rule, passive sentences should be translated into active sentences in Chinese in most cases because of the feature of Chinese: the English subject should be converted in Chinese when features or changes are mainly showed;the English subject should be translated into Chinese object when there contains the passive marker "by" followed by the agent performing the action initiator.Third,in the light of Coherence Rule and Fidelity Rule, the passive sentences in English should be translated into Zero-Subject sentences in Chinese when conditions are emphasized or some opinions and attitudes are stated. The three Rules of Skopos theory can help the translator better master the translation of passive voice, improve the quality of translation of Sci-Tech report, and achieve the communicative purpose of the translation better.
