| Since China proposed the "Belt and Road Initiate" in 2013,the BRI has been well received by many developing countries in the world,especially those from Asia.While at the same time,the BRI has been doubted for its political intention by some developed countries.To share China's experience and convey China's voice to the international community,many ministries,universities,think tanks,and research institutes in China hold various seminars and workshops annually for foreign countries who are interested in the BRIAmong these organizations,the National Development and Reform Commission holds a series of seminars every year for foreigners to understand China,inviting government officials,business leaders,agricultural experts,technical experts and young scholars from Asian,African and Latin American countries to visit China,and sharing Chinese experience with them.After returning home,a number of them would become the backbone of the BRI promotion.This practice report is based on one of the author's interpreting practices,a lecture interpreting on the planning of China's regional economic development as a part of Sri Lanka's Economic Development and Planning Seminar in 2019First,the author briefly describes the reason why he chooses this topic,the problems he intends to study,and the structure of this report.Then he describes the background of this interpreting task and gives a detailed introduction to his preparations In the case analysis,the author focuses on the terminology he encountered,the difficulties related to the accent,the hidden message,and the redundancy.Finally,the author summarizes his gains and thoughts of this interpreting task.The author hopes that this report can provide later student interpreters who have just entered the language service market with referential opinions and give relevant suggestions,so they can perform better in real-life interpreting. |
