Analysis And Research On Cross-cultural Accommodation Of Chinese Volunteer Teachers In Italy

In the long run,the communication of China-Italy re-economy,education,culture and social exchanges has continued to be deepen,The demands for learning Chinese in Italy is showing a constant trend.Since the establishment of the first Confucius Institute on September 29,2006,Italy has established 12 Confucius Institutes and more than 30 Confucius Classes until now.Then Han ban/Confucius Institute Headquarters dispatches volunteers to teach in various regions of Italy.These volunteers are basically graduate students and undergraduate graduates from domestic cooperative universities,and most of them haven't been abroad for teaching before.As a result,The research on their cross-cultural accommodation will have important practical significanceAs a member of these volunteers from 2018 to 2019,I found that some volunteers showed different cross-cultural accommodation problems in the previous months.On this basis,I conducted a questionnaire survey of 40 volunteers in Italy combined with the differences between the northern and southern regions of Italy and some theories of cultural accommodation,mainly conducting surveys and comparisons of cross-cultural accommodation from five dimensions:social life,administrative work,Chinese teaching,interpersonal relationship and self-adjustment.At the same time,i selected 10 volunteers for further interviews,hoping to investigate the cross-cultural accommodation deeply and finding the reasons of these differencesThe survey found that the cross-cultural accommodation of those volunteers was good overall.For the volunteers in the northern region,the top five items that have difficulty in cross-cultural accommodation are:language,strike,transportation,language of teaching medium,and integrating into the local people.For volunteers in the central-southern region,the top five items that had difficulty in cross-cultural accommodation are:traffic,strike,language,public order and the feeling of lonely.The statistical analysis in social life shows that the language level and professional background influence their cross-cultural accommodation levelsAccording to the relevant surveys,i put forward several suggestions to improve the cross-cultural adaptability of those volunteers who will go to Italy,mainly from the perspective of volunteers,the perspective of the Confucius Institute,and the perspective of volunteer training programs.Finally,I make a summary the whole article in the conclusion part,and point out the shortcomings.
