With the rapid development of economic globalization and the Internet,countries are increasingly connected in various fields.Higher education is also following the trend exploring towards internationalization.However,what are the specific rationales and motivations for the internationalization of higher education? So,the author chooses Chapter 3of the Internationalization in Higher Education Series as this translation practice material,explaining to readers in detail a series of rationales and motivations for internationalization of higher education,as well as How the broad reasons and motivations in turn promote the internationalization of higher education.This source text is an informative text and aims to convey objective facts.Therefore,the translator takes Nida's functional equivalence theory as the theoretical guide,and strives to convey the full meaning and the spirit of the source text with fluent and native words and sentences,so that readers can have a similar response.The English-Chinese translation report is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction of the translation project,which introduces the background and significance of the project in detail.The second part introduces the author's process of completing the whole translation project from the perspectives of pre-translation,in-translation and post-translation.The third part is the case analysis under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,which is the core of the whole paper.Firstly,the author makes a brief introduction to the theory of functional equivalence.Under the guidance of this theory,the author makes a case study of the source text and the source text with the translation methods and skills.The last part summarizes lessons learned from the translation practice,and points out the demerits of the translation,hoping to provide references for other translators.
