Tourism Translation With The Guidance Of Text Typology

At present,the tourism industry is booming in China,which has stimulated the economic growth and cultural communication.So the translation of tourism text is of great significance,and compared to other general texts,it has different requirements and principles.Based on the Text Typology,the report adopts a new perspective to analyze the function of tourism texts,pointing out that the Text Typology is practical in the translation practice.With the guidance of Text Typology,this report analyzes the text function of tourism text in view of the specific content of the translation material,proposing that tourism text is a compound-type of informative,expressive and operative text.Then,the report analyzes the differences between Chinese and English tourism texts in vocabulary,rhetorical devices,sentence structure and style of writing.This report also proposes that realizing the differences between people who speak Chinese and English in mindset and expressions is the foundation of the translation work.In addition,this paper presents semantic and communicative translation strategies as solutions to solve problems meeting in translation and points out that text rich in informative and operative content could adopt the communicative translation strategy,while text rich in expressive content could adopt the semantic translation strategy.In terms of different types of texts,the report proposes different translation methods from the aspects of words and sentences,including conversion,division,combination,paraphrase and recasting translation.I hope that this report can render support for other translators in the translation of tourism text from the aspects of words and sentence pattern.
