An Internship Report On Interpreting For The 2019 Chinese Campus Football Coaches Studying In The UK Program

This thesis is a report based on the author's interpreting internship for the Chinese Campus Football Coaches Studying in the UK Program from 22^nd June to 14^th September,2019.In retrospect of the three-month interpreting internship,the report reviews the responsibilities of the author's work,shares evaluations on her work from multiple sides and presents case analysis based on her field interpreting.Overall,it is safe to say that as an interpreter,the author completed the work of the program in a quite satisfying way.Admittedly,flaws or failures still exist.Altogether,three main flaws are revealed via case analysis:inaccurate terminology interpretation,redundant fillers used in the output and the interpreter's defective emotion management in some occasions.To avoid similar problems in the future work,the author believes that the interpreter need enhance both the hard skills and the soft skills:she should not only consolidate the basic skills including bilingual capability,speech rate and preparation work,but also elevate her emotional intelligence via more social contact with various sides.This thesis is anticipated to be taken as a reference by those who are interested in or dedicated to football interpreting work.Also,it can help contribute to promote the football exchange between China and other countries.
