| With the deepening of technical exchanges at home and abroad,technical translation has become more important than ever before.In the translation market,there is a growing demand for translation of technical documents(operation manuals,instruction manuals)and documents related to technology.In such context,translators are expected to harness their ability to provide high quality services for professional technical exchanges.This thesis discusses two challenges in accurate translation of technical information: dealing with technical vocabularies in vague contexts and long Chinese sentences with obscure semantic logic.A number of strategies are explored in this thesis to solve the above-mentioned difficulties,including clearly defining the context and concepts of technical vocabularies;adjusting the sentential sequence and using more logical connections.It is hoped that this thesis will provide further insight into how to deliver quality technical translation. |
