A good national image plays an important role in the development of a country.The spread of national image is increasingly valued by various countries.Iran's ranking in the survey of national image rankings conducted was either in the end or in negative evaluations that far outweighed positive evaluations.As a country with the most potential for development in the Middle East at this stage,why is this ancient country with a flourishing and splendid civilization receiving such negative appraisals?Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to discuss what is the reason for the status quo of the national image of Iran?The results of polls reveals that there is a gap between the national image of Iran and the status quo of Iran,and then considers that Iran's national image is not shaped by itself.Various propagators also play an important role in the spread of Iran's national image.Therefore,this article starts from the perspective of political communication to study Iran's national image,and regards the national image communication as a dynamic dissemination process.It is the result of interaction between all parties involved.Through case studies(taking the Iranian nuclear issue as an example)to explore the process of Iran's national image.Finally,based on the previous analysis to sum up the reasons of the status quo of Iran's national image.This article concludes that the reasons for the negative image of the current Iran are diverse.From the perspective of inter-state relations and ideology,the spread of the image of the Iranian countries by the large European and American countries and their neighboring countries is affected by the relations between the countries(national interests,historical grudges)and ideology,Iran,neighboring countries in the region,and major countries in Europe and the United States.The tension between the two sides,the ideology,the opposition to values and Iran's threat to the core interest of the European and American powers in the Middle East.Judging from the power of discourse,major European and American countries have set the agenda for leading international politics,and the mainstream media of Europe and the United States have dominated the agenda of the international media.They have shaped Iran into negative images such as "enemies","threats" and"different".The instincts of the audience are likely to have an affection for values and ideologies that are identical or similar to themselves,and to reject opposing values and ideologies,especially when individuals/countries that hold such values are aggressive and threatening.Not only will it become a boycott,it will more likely evolve into fear.From the perspective of Iran's self-dissemination factors,the inconsistency in the official spread of Iran's national image,the inability of the Iran's leaders to perform their words and deeds,the negative citizenship image transmitted by some people,and the weak discourse power of the country's media made it impossible a "huge plus" for Iran's own national image.
