Research On The Villagers' Electoral Behavior In Mountainous Areas

At present,China is still a big agricultural country,and rural areas are the most basic and bottom organizational units of social organizations in China.The problems of agriculture,rural areas and peasants have always been major issues that related to the China's economy and social development,which play a decisive role in China's political stability and modernization.Besides,China is a country with enormous mountains,mountainous population accounts for about 1/3 of the country's population.The mountainous issue has concentrated on the difficulties of agriculture,rural areas,and rural people.The poverty problem in China is mainly the poverty in mountainous areas.The rural-urban disparity in China reflects in the disparity between urban areas and rural areas.What's more,in China's modernization,the main problem is in rural areas,and in rural areas the mountainous issue is particularly prominent.Similarly,the problem of grass-roots democracy promotion in China is also mainly in mountain areas.Therefore,what kind of particularity does the villagers' electoral behavior will show in the rural areas where the economy is relatively backward and the traditional culture is relatively intact? And how do we guide it?Based on the theory of rural grassroots elections,this paper will take Yanqian village of Yingcheng street in Yingde city as an example,to analyze the grass-roots election behavior in mountainous areas in northern Guangdong province,and to analyze the improvement of the villagers' election consciousness,the differentiation of election intention,the difference of election ability and the orientation of election motivation.In this way,this paper sums up some characteristics of the election behavior of villagers in mountainous areas,and proposes corresponding guidance measures.Firstly,the villagers' sense of election has improved,but the objective conditions have kept them from paying too much attention to it.In response to this feature,it's a good way to educate the villagers on democratic practices,guide and establish their right awareness of elections,increase the enthusiasm for political participation,and reduce their political indifference.Secondly,many peasants are not willing to vote.Although most of the villagers hold high expectations for the election,there was a big difference in their willingness,which has a great impact on the whole electoral process and procedure.In response to this feature,it should expand the scope of candidates to improve the willingness of villagers to elect their elections.Thirdly,there is a big difference in election ability.Due to cultural restrictions,elections in rural areas often have a herd mentality.In response to this feature,The essence of raising election ability is to adopt comprehensive education,strengthen education,and foster "modern farmers" with democratic election consciousness through democratic and cultural education.Fourthly,the election motivation is not clear.Researches show that most of the villagers expressed no feelings about the village cadres or did not feel much about their role.Therefore,the clear motive for election is to follow the trend,which requires us to regulate the village cadres by advancing moral construction and perfecting the legal system,to make sure of democratic elections.Finally,the election goal is not clear.The existence of this feature,in the final analysis,is that the sense of security of the people is not high,and there is a lack of trust in village committees or village leaders.Therefore,the fundamental is to use of democratic centralism to improve the decision-making on village affairs and use of system construction to improve the sense of security of villagers.
