Introduction As the population aging progresses, the quality of life(QOL)of the elderly in China is increasingly concerned by the society and the academic community. This study compares the QOL and the influencing factors of the poor and non-poor elderly in rural areas of Anhui Province through a survey of the QOL of the elderly in rural areas of Anhui Province. On the one hand,it grasps the QOL of the elderly in rural areas of Anhui Province under the background of precise poverty alleviation.Baseline data, especially the baseline QOL of poor elderly people, provide a basis for the evaluation of the effectiveness of national precision poverty alleviation policies to improve the QOL of the elderly. At the same time, based on the results of the survey and analysis, the policy recommendations for improving and improving the QOL of the rural elderly, especially the poor, are proposed.Methodology a randomized sample survey was conducted to select one county from each of the Northern,Southern and Central Anhui Province, with a total of three counties.2 townships were selected from each county randomly, with a total of six townships.3 villages were selected from each township randomly, with a total of 18 villages as the survey sites. With the assistance of local village doctors and village committee members, the survey was conducted by surveying the elderly people who are over the age of 60.From August 2017 to November 2017,the questionnaire survey was conducted by one-on-one inquiry. The investigation actually surveyed 1,206 poor elderly people and 2146 non-poor elderly people.3352 valid questionnaires were obtained, and the effective response rate was 96.01%.The survey used a self-designedquestionnaire and the European Five-Dimensional Health Scale(EQ-5D).Data entry and data analysis were performed using Epidata 3.1 and SPSS 16.0.Findings(1)The number of poor elderly people in the mobility ability dimension,self-care ability dimension, daily activity dimension, pain or discomfort dimension, and anxiety or depression dimension is higher than that of the non-poor elderly population. The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).(2)The mean EQ-VAS scores of poor elderly people(65.69±13.084)were lower than the mean EQ-VAS scores of non-poor seniors(71.04±12.205),and the difference in EQ-VAS score between poor and non-poor people was statistically significant(P<0.01).(3)Whether it is poor elderly or non-poor elderly,Spearman correlation analysis results show that gender, age, occupation, and chronic disease are positively related to action ability dimension,self-care ability dimension, daily activity dimension, pain or discomfort dimension and anxiety or depression dimension, cultural level and action ability dimension,self-care ability Dimensions, daily activity dimensions, pain or discomfort dimensions, and anxiety or depression dimensions were negatively correlated.Living status were negatively correlated with the mobility ability dimension, the self-care ability dimension, and the daily activity dimension, and were not related to the pain or discomfort dimension and the anxiety or depression dimension.(4)The results of multi-class logistic regression analysis show that age, gender, education level, occupation, chronic disease, living status, and poverty are all factors influencing the dimension of mobility, the dimension of self-care ability and the dimension of daily activities;age, gender, education level,Occupation, chronic disease, and poverty are the influencing factors of pain or discomfort;gender, education level, occupation, chronic disease, and poverty are the influencing factors of anxiety or depression.Conclusions(1)The QOL of poor elderly people in Anhui rural area is lower than that of non-poor elderly people in Anhui rural area, and the highest proportion of health problems occur in the pain or discomfort dimension.(2)The QOL is affected by many factors such as age, gender, education level, occupation, chronic diseases, and poverty.poverty is an important factor in the five health dimensions.(3)effective measures should be taken to address the above factors to improve the QOL of rural elderly people, especially for poor elderly people.
