The Economic Security Level Of Left-behind Elderly And Its Impact On The Degree Of The Family Caring

With the continuous advancement of the urbanization process,the rural youth labor force has been transferred to the city on a large scale,which has led to the emergence of the left-behind elderly population.At present,the existence and expansion trend of about 50 million left-behind elderly people make how to provide better care services for this group an increasingly important social reality.Studying and resolving the caring feelings of the left-behind elderly is the inevitable requirement for solving the quality of life of the left-behind elderly in the later years,as well as the meaning of building a new socialist countryside,establishing a socialist harmonious society,safeguarding social security and stability,and embodying the superiority of China's socialism.What is the level of financial security for left-behind elderly people? Is the higher level of economic security equal to their higher family care? What about the other way around? The purpose of this paper is to explore these issues in order to better promote the care of the families for the left-behind elderly from the perspective of economic security.After detailed and relevant review of relevant theoretical literature,this study combines questionnaire surveys and field interviews to deeply grasp the current situation of economic security for left-behind elderly people in Guibei and the feelings of family caring.Based on the actual situation,the economic security situation can be classified into three types: personal economic security,child economic security and national economic security.A random questionnaire is sent to left-behind elderly people in Guibei to obtain 297 valid questionnaires and three types of economic security.The method is interactively analyzed with the degree of family caring.The results of the study have found that:(1)The level of economic security has a significant impact on the degree of family caring.After introducing the four control variables of gender,self-care,age,education background,and the high economic security level still significantly affect the caring feelings of the left-behind elderly.(2)The level of personal economic security takes a place in the level of caring feelings of left-behind elderly people.Among them,whether there is a pension in the left-behind elderly is positively related to family caring feelings.Personal savings and the self-employed,as two variables,about which there is no crucial impact on caring feelings.(3)The level of children's economic security has an essential effect on the level of caring for the left-behind elderly.Among them,there is a positive correlation between the support of the children and the caring feelings of the family,while there is a negative correlation between the child's long-term working time and family care experience.(4)The level of national economic security has a significant impact on the level of caring feelings of left-behind elderly people.Among the four variables,enjoying the national minimum living security is negatively correlated with family caring feelings.The elderly have no significant influence on the caring feelings of the family.There are no significant differences between the two groups of village pension insurance and medical insurance and family caring feelings.This study interprets multiple sets of interactions separately,and finally clarifies the research conclusions,and proposes countermeasures and suggestions for improving the caring feelings of left-behind elderly families:(1)As for the economic security of children,the children of left-behind children should look at the right time,seize the opportunity,and return to their hometowns to return to their hometowns for employment.At the same time,as far as conditions permit,they should satisfy the consolation needs of left-behind elderly people.(2)When it comes to the national economic security,we should increase government policy support,build a comprehensive rural left-behind society support the system,actively do a good job in rural social assistance,and improve the treatment of rural endowment insurance and medical insurance,in order to build a diversified service main body as “government-village community-village-level elderly association-home-based pension”.
