The Identity of Chinese Young Pioneers' Counselor refers to a complex synthesis which consist of the sense of oneness individuals have with Counselor's profession,the degree to which individuals define themselves as Counselors' members and the individuals' alignment of responsibilities,values and ethical standards to be consistent with practices accepted by counselor's specific profession.It's also a symbol of counselors' status in the social structure and in their work field,the constant questioning of "who am I" and "what kind of teacher should I be".The degree of counselor' identity is of great significant to their evaluation of education work values,which can also promote their professional development and the stability of the counselor team.At the same time,it is helpful to arouse people's attention to the significance of counselors' work and respect their social status.Besides,it also has certain practical reference value for education departments to carry out effective education and training according to counselors' real inner development demands,and to improve the relevant policies of recruitment,management and support of Young Pioneer Counselors.Therefore,this research aims at investigating the degree of counselor's identity,analyzing its' characteristic differences and putting forward according suggestions for the construction of counselors' identity.On the basement of previous literature review,the author compiled The YoungPioneer Counselor Identity Questionnaire following the scientific research routine,through project analysis,exploratory factor analysis,confirmatory factor analysis and reliability and validity test.The questionnaire consists of 31 items and 4 dimensions,including vocational identity,professional identity,personal identity and situational identity.The research totally investigated 350 counselors in Southwest China by random sampling and finally retrieved 330 valid questionnaires.By analyzing the overall situation of young pioneer counselors' identity and its differences in demographic variables,the research results can be seen as follow:(1)The degree of Young Pioneer Counselor's identity is above the average level in general,and there are obvious unbalances among four dimensions.The scores of four dimensions from the highest to lowest are vocational identity,professional identity,personal identity and situational identity,which shows that young pioneer counselors are generally aware of the unique value of children's organization education and recognize that it requires professional knowledge and skills,but the sense of organization support,social acceptance and interpersonal support are still insufficient.In other words,counselors' positive internal evaluation is threatened by lower external acceptance.(2)Young Pioneer Counselors' identities levels show significant differences in demographic variables,including gender,job title,education background,education degree,professional title,length of service and monthly income.To be specific,the female counselors' identity level is significantly higher than male counselors;The full-time counselor's identity is significant higher than that of part-time counselor;The header counselor's identity is significantly higher than other counselors.The counselors those who have postgraduate degree and junior college degree is significantly higher than that of counselors with undergraduate degree.Besides,the research shows that counselors' identity level is also affected by years of service and monthly income.The overall level of identity and work behavior tendency of counselors with 3-5 service years are significantly lower than that of counselors with other service years.The degree of counselor's identity tends to be increase according counselor's monthly income.(3)The Young Pioneer Counselors' work behavior tendency,sense of organizational support and interpersonal support have a good reverse predictive effect on counselors' turnover intention.In the last chapter,based on the analyzing of main problems,the author puts forward specific strategies to construct the identity of Young Pioneer Counselors from two aspects.In one hands,we should optimize the external environment of Young Pioneer Counselors' identity.In another hand,we should stimulate Young Pioneer Counselors intern passion about children's education,in order to promote the overall improvement of the identity level of Young Pioneer Counselors.Through the unremitting efforts of both sides,we can make significant progress in promoting Young Pioneer Counselors professional development and cultivate excellent teachers for children's ideological education.
