On The Commercialization Mode Of Man's Existence

The reason why modernity is the essential attribute of modern capitalist society is that modern society has established an epoch-making modern material production mode in the history of human development.On the basis of modern material production mode,the commercialization mode of man's existence is a social fact in our capital era,and it is not an intuitive object.Therefore,how to theoretically criticize and construct it,Marx went through a conceptual tool developed and applied in his Das Kapital—“commodity”—as an entry point to achieve.This is because “commodity” is the economic “embryo” of modernity.Therefore,starting from Marx's critical interpretation of the concept of “commodity”,this paper can critically reveal layer by layer the “prescribed in form” of the commercialization mode of man's existence,which refers to a certain materialized social relationship and production relationship of “realistic historical people”,to critically uncover a certain real life process and the existence conditions of modernity of individuals in reality,and thus realize the criticism to modernity,that is,realize the criticism to the modern capital production method.In fact,the mode which the individuals in modern society use to manifest their own styles of living and life,that is the commercialization mode of man's existence.It depends on the certain method that is the modern material production mode,which modern people use to product the livelihood for their own survival.Therefore,after capturing this precondition,this paper can see the implication of the critique of modernity of the view of commodity in Das Kapital,which is the commercialization mode of man's existence.The main body of the thesis consists of a foreword and four chapters.The author discusses the view of commodity and the commercialization mode of existence in Das Kapital from the perspective of Marx's critique to the commercialization mode of man's existence.At the same time,the author takes Marx's critical analysis of the commodity as the entry point to clarify the critical construction process of the commercialization mode of man's existence.And thus the author realizes the two-way interaction between Marx's view of commodity and the commercialization mode of man's existence in Das Kapital.In fact,the beginning of Das Kapital shows a self-evident social fact,that is,the sociometric cells of our special era ruled by capital are commodities and the accumulation of a single commodity as a basic unit constitutes such a world of autonomous conscious things.Once modern humans are born,they are placed in the world of commodities,which can manifest their own lives only by virtue of things' appearance,and thus are innate “commercial ordinary men”.The real human individuals who have commercial stipulation,the same as “the other things”,can exist and be valuable only by becoming commoditized existents.For these individuals of “personification of capital”,others can be meaningful and understandable only by being the factors of capital production itself,that is,as “things” of commodities.Consequently,the social relations between the individuals and other things or others can only translate into the commodity relations that depend on the exchange between things and things and the production relations where capital is opposite to labor.In this sense,the realistic existence of modern humans is commoditized existence of reality,and the commercialization mode of man's existence is the certain existence mode of modernity taking the labor products and labors in the form of the commodity as “material cause” and taking the social relations and production relations of materialization as “form cause”.It can be seen that the commodity,which is the element of the enchanted and inverted alien world,has a kind of generating meaning for “realistic historical individual” as the commoditized existent and their relationship to each other,so that it has a kind of constructive meaning for the commercialization mode of man's existence.Therefore,Marx's critique of modernity to the commodity inherently contains his critical construction for the commercialization mode of man's existence.At the same time,based on his critical construction of the commercialization mode of man's existence in Das Kapital,and in the face of the things in themselves of modernity(capital),the author can reinterpret the vivid view of commodity in the masterpiece,and activate Marx's thoughts of his critique of modernity.Because the commodity is historical products of the development of human society,the commodity category as a kind of social productive relation has the same special historical nature as other economic categories.Therefore,the commercialization mode of man's existence and modern capital production are also temporary and historical.As a result,the purpose of this thesis is to clarify how the modernity mode of existence constructed historically,and how Marx's view of commodity developed historically from its perspective,and what they will undergo new changes in the context of the current era of globalization of capital and embark on what kind of path of socialist revolutionary and reformation in present-day China,and therefore make a Chinese-style respond and answer to “the riddle of era” of how modern man's free emancipation and all-round development is possible.
