East Asia has always been an important strategic region for the United States.Making U.S.policy about East Asia will also attract worldwide attention.Since Tump became the US President in 2017,his policy towards East Asia has been adjusted accordingly.With the prevalence of isolationism in the United States and the changing situation in East Asia,the Trump administration adjusted the specific strategy of the Obama administration in East Asia and put forward the Asia-pacific stabilization plan,the Indo-pacific strategy and the economic unilateralism policy.At the same time,the Trump administration is changing the direction of East Asian diplomacy,which used to focus on multilateral cooperation,to focus on bilateral cooperation.The United States has further consolidated and developed its strategic and cooperative alliance with Japan and South Korea,engaged and exerted pressure on the DPRK.The main purpose is to contain the development of China and maintain the dominant position of the United States in East Asia.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction of the paper,which mainly reviews the East Asia policy of the United States,the East Asia policy of the Trump administration and the foreign policies of East Asian countries from three aspects:the research purpose and significance,the research status at home and abroad,the research ideas and innovations,and provides theoretical support for the paper.The second part is to define the concept of East Asia and analyze the US East Asia policy in the post-cold war period.It expounds the background of the East Asia policy of the Trump administration from two factors in the US and abroad.The third part is a concrete analysis of the main contents of Trump's East Asia policy,including the specific East Asia strategy of the Trump administration and its corresponding policies on Japan,South Korea,North Korea and China.The fourth part discusses the reasons for the adjustment of the East Asia policy by the Trump administration.The idea of“America First ",the threat posed by China's " the Belt and Road”,and the need to strengthen strategic alliances in East Asia are all reasons for adjustment.At the same time,the paper also analyzes the constraints on the East Asia policy adjustment of the Trump administration from both domestic and international perspectives.The fifth part analyzes the impact of the Trump administration's East Asia policy,which has both positive and negative impacts on the US itself,as well as impacts on Japan and South Korea,ASEAN and China,as well as how China deals with the US.
