In the process of rapid urbanization in China,a large number of " villager to city dweller " communities built to resettle landless farmers have emerged.At the same time,the social trust of traditional rural residents based on the acquaintance society has changed correspondingly with changes in living places.Especially after a large number of migrant workers choose to settle in the "villager to city dweller" community,many problems have arisen in the social trust of residents in the community.Social trust is a kind of expectation of residents for the normal operation of the community.A low level of social trust of the residents means a decline in the expectations of the residents,which will directly weaken residents' enthusiasm to participate in community governance and their autonomy ability,and then lead to the poor governance effect of "villager to city dweller" community.Therefore,forming a state of residents' social trust that meets the requirements of community development in the new era is of great significance to the governance of the"villager to city dweller" community.This article takes the residents of the "villager to city dweller" community as a research object,and uses the "villager to city dweller" community in Y Street,Suzhou City as a case.Through questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview to explore the residents' social trust,it finds that the social trust level of residents in the governance subject is ranked from high to low:community party organizations=street offices(basic governments)>community neighborhood committee>community social organizations>property companies.Among them,there is a significant difference in the social trust of local residents and foreign residents in street offices,community neighborhood committees,and property companies.Then the current situation is used as a clue to explore the problems of social trust among residents in the "villager to city dweller"community in the case.A series of residents' social trust issues caused by unclear responsibilities of neighborhood offices and community neighborhood committees,weak participation of community party organizations and social organizations,poor service capabilities of property companies,and backlogs among residents.On this basis,from the perspective of three dimensions(rational,psychological,and cultural)of the trust foundation in Piotr Sztompak's trust research,this paper analyzes the causes of the social trust problems of the residents in the "villager to city dweller" community,and then follows an deep analysis from a comprehensive dimension.Finally,drawing on the experience of building social trust among community residents in Singapore,the United States,and Shenzhen,China,the article puts forward an implementation path to optimize residents' social trust from six perspectives:core leadership,intrinsic motivation,institutional construction,information channels,cultural atmosphere,and governance forms.Through the above path,the article intends to solve the existing problems and promote the improvement of the governance level of "villager to city dweller"communities.
