A Case Study On The Difficulty Of Adaptation Of The New Elderly In The Elderly Care Institutions

With the continuous deepening of China's aging and the weakening of family pension function,institutional pension has become one of the current main pension methods.When faced with a completely unfamiliar environment,the elderly who enter the pension facility not only need to establish contact with strange friends and agency staff,but also need to adapt to a new life.These elderly people will inevitably produce negative emotions and feelings of incompatibility,from arranging their lives to passively accepting the management of institutions.If these problems are not resolved,it will seriously affect the quality of life in their later years,which is not conducive to promoting the overall improvement of the service quality of pension institutions.In this paper,we take the newly-elderly elderly residents of X Welfare Institute of Chongqing as the research object,and conduct a questionnaire survey on the adaptation of the newly-acquired 38 elderly people in society.Investigations and studies have shown that the elderly in the new welfare society of X Welfare Institute have encountered various degrees of difficulty in adapting to their daily lives,psychology and emotions,and interpersonal communication.During the investigation,it was found that the newly-adapted elderly WYD's performance of adaptation was particularly obvious.Social workers provided case services to the recipients,their families and the staff of the orphanage on the basis of the consent of the clients.After analyzing the reasons for the elderly's difficulty in adapting to accommodation,this study based on the social support network theory,combined with cognitive behavioraltreatment models,and formulated relevant interventions according to the actual situation.In the process of case intervention,social workers fully tapped the formal and informal support resources in the social support network of the clients,and assisted the elderly to integrate and use the resources from the personal and environmental level.Through the support of family members,peer groups and welfare institutions,etc.The old man's negative emotions help him adapt to the new environment and new life.This study uses cognitive behavioral therapy to help the client to understand the unreasonable cognition,and then make them recognize the contradictory conflicts and a series of negative emotions caused by these unreasonable cognition.After the clients have fully vented their negative emotions,social workers help them re-examine the conflict events and situations,and define the relationship between themselves and the conflicting parties to effectively improve their interpersonal communication.In this paper,by understanding and analyzing the performance and causes of the adjustment difficulties of elderly people admitted to old age institutions,we will grasp the impact of personal consciousness and social support networks on institutional life adjustment,adjust the mood of the elderly for social workers,assist the elderly to adjust the living environment and interpersonal relationships,and enhance It provides reference opinions on the social adaptability of the elderly and improves the quality of life of newly admitted elderly people in pension institutions,and thus promotes the care and attention of the general public for the old age of newly admitted elderly people in pension institutions.
