The paternalistic leadership is one of the unique leadership styles of Chinese society,which is widely existed in all kinds of public organizations in our country,especially in the basic level government.The formation of this phenomenon is not only related to Chinese tr aditional culture,but also related to the selection and appointment of the people in the histo ry of the development of China in the previous decades.At present,our country attaches gre at importance to the construction of rural grass-roots political power,it can be said that the basic level regime is the ruling foundation of the central government.The research on the le adership style of the basic level can reveal the influence of the leadership style on the subor dinate,and provide the basis for the selection of the grass-roots cadres.This paper selects A town leader JiangRan as the main research object,using the case study method to study his leadership style,finally reveals the impact of leadership style on leader-member relationshi p and work emotion.A town leader Jiang is a non civil servant status of the farmers cadres i n the town of A as the number one in twenty-three years.This phenomenon is very unique a nd representative in the Beijing region.This paper first reviews the literature on the relationship between paternalistic leadersh ip,leadership-member relationships and the work emotion and related literature to collate a nd summarize.Through the literature review,the author found that most of the paternalistic leadership research focuses in the field of enterprise management,lack of government depa rtments in the public domain,so this dissertation focuses on the public organization,selects A town leader Jiang as the main research object,using the method of case study to analyze t he case of the research object.Secondly,this paper describes the case of eight key events in the town of A,which is t he leader of the town of,which reflects the relationship between Jiang and the different sub ordinate leaders and their leadership style.Again,the use of paternalistic leadership,leadermember relations and the work emotion theory on the town of A in the case of the leadershi p style of the case.Through the analysis,Jiang's leadership style belongs to the paternalistic leadership style of typical,in accordance with the leader-member relationship of different s ubordinate performance of different dimensions of leadership,and the emotional impact of t he work of subordinates.Thus four conclusions are obtained:(1)the combination of differe nt dimensions of paternalistic leadership have different influence on the emotion of the subordinates;(2)the combination of different dimensions of paternalistic leadership have differ ent influence on the relationship between leader-member(3);leader-member relationship in reaction to the paternalistic leadership performance dimensions;(4)leader-member relatio ns will have an impact on the work of subordinates emotion.At last,this paper discusses the practical significance of the research conclusion,and p uts forward suggestions on the leadership style of the grass-roots government in the perspec tive of the paternalistic leadership as the main visual angle.At the same time,the research o f this case is analyzed,and the future research direction is prospected.
