Current Situation And Counter Measures Of Security Management In Gwadar Port Pakistan

Gwadar Port of Pakistan is the primary project within the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor,a crucial point within the Belt and Road Initiative,as well as the country's third-largest port.The completion of Gwadar Port will not only drive the economic development of Baluchistan and even Pakistan but also provide the most recent waterway for the landlocked countries of Central Asia such as Afghanistan.At the same time,it plays an essential role as an entrep?t trade conjuncture for East Asian countries and for China's development and manufacturing of new energy transportation channels.Gwadar Port is located in Baluchistan,Pakistan's most impoverished,volatile,unsafe,largest in land-mass,least populated province where basic education levels are very low.After Pakistan as a country was founded,Baluchistan repeatedly appealed for “Baluchistan Independent State” status as a separate and sovereign country.Since then,Baluchistan separatism and extremist activities have persisted.Armed activities in Baluchistan pose a considerable security threat to Gwadar Port.With no safety there is no project.It is for this reason that the strengthening and management of security in the region is the center point problem for both the Pakistani and Chinese governments to solve.This research paper uses literature review,comparative research method,and field investigation method to develop and report findings.First the concept of the paper,the theoretical basis of the research,and the necessity of the research are expounded;next,through field research,an in-depth analysis of the management status,problems,and causes of Gwadar Port are considered.It is believed that the complex geographical and social environment of Baluchistan in Gwadar Port is affecting Gwadar.Factors such as terrorist incidents organized by terrorist organizations such as the Baluchistan People's Liberation Army are identified as the most critical factors affecting the security management of Gwadar Port.Moreover,the unique management style of Gwadar Port has also had a particular impact on its safety management;Then the safety management methods and experience of foreign ports to Pakistan such as those residing in China and the United States were compared,analyzed,ad proposed for reference;Finally,the countermeasures and suggestions for optimizing the safety management of Gwadar Port are put forward.In order to effectively protect Gwadar Port and its facilities,the safety of port workers and surrounding communities must be insured.In order to assess and avoid harbor accidents and operational risks,and mainly to prevent terrorist attacks,the Pakistani government needs to further optimize relationships and coordination between management entities,construct and increase security measures,strengthen cooperation with the Chinese government and Chinese enterprises involved,all while improving living standards and education levels of local people in the Baluchistan region.The strengthening of international cooperation,the exchange of information on port security,and improvements of foresight will consolidate the secure foundation of Gwadar Port.Learning from the advanced experiences from abroad,and making continuous improvements will improve the safety management level of Gwadar Port.
