Community Correction Practices For Juvenile Offenders On Y Street,Yan Ji City

The problem of juvenile delinquency is becoming serious increasingly in recent years,as so as the community correction of juveniles becomes more important.Professional development of social work requires promoting the theoretical research of community correction through the practice of community correction of juveniles and exploring the modles,methods and strategies of community correction.This study based on the community correction of Y Street in Yanji city,according to general system theory and demand level theory,proviedes community correction services for minor criminal H by means of case work.Through this research we find that H has such problems as "self-alienation","behavior violence" and "loss of direction in life",and the main reasons are "family breakdown,lack of love and sense of belonging","lack of legal awareness and cognitive behavior bias","lack of educational guidance and loss of life goals".This study provides intervention through such services as "returning to family,regaining the love of parents","integrating into society,rebuilding confidence in life" and "defining goals and reshaping the direction of life".The evaluation shows that the service target is basically achieved by the systematic professional intervention,minor criminal H returned to family by repairing family relationships;H gradually integrated into the community through a series of community actions;H found the direction of life through the program of backing to school.Research has proved that empathy should be a consistent principle in community correction of juvenile delinquents.Scene representation is an effective method to correct the systematic misconception as well as establishing the correct cognition and behavior pattern of juvenile delinquents as H.Cultivating vocational skills and the vision of life is an important way to guide minors to set up the right direction of life in community correction work.
