The high school stage is a critical period that affects the development of students.Students are faced with the double choices of continuing education or employment.If the students have no jobs or study awareness,then it will have an impact on their subsequent development.Therefore,it is necessary for us to carry out career education for students,so that they can understand themselves,plan their further occupation and their own studies.The research on career education of foreign scholars has been carried out earlier than that of China,and it has been developed more maturely.One of the foreign experience is the integration of career education in the subject curriculum.Occupation career education in China started relatively late,but scholars have gradually realized its importance.We can construct the relevant occupation content in chemical materials to use the chemistry course of occupation career education for students.The research on career education has been investigated in this paper,while “National medium and long term educational development and outline of the reform plan(2010-2020)” and “Opinions of the State Council on deepening the reform of examination and enrollment system” have been analyzed,and their enlightenment and appeal for students career education in high school.what's more,it states an investigation into the views and opinions of front-line teachers on the teaching of vocational education in chemistry textbooks.Then this paper makes a systematic study on the arrangement,presentation and characteristics of career education in American and Canadian high school chemistry textbooks,In the end,the author puts forward some suggestions on how to construct the career education in our chemistry textbooks.The results shows that the high school students' career education is in line with the national policy and conducive to the development of students.It is of great significance to construct chemistry related occupation in chemistry textbook.The survey and interview show that most of the teachers are lack of the relevant knowledge while their teaching task is heavy,so they rarely penetrate the content of career education in teaching.However,most teachers hold a positive attitude towards the construction of career education in chemistry textbook.Based on the teachers' opinions,we discuss the goal of the senior high school chemistry textbook penetrating the career education,use vocational classification and the need for compulsory chemistry knowledge to build a professional content.What's more,we can present the career education content in chemistry textbook by the professional column,the infiltration of chemical history,practical activities and exercises.
