Pertinence is an important rule that textbook editors must follow when they are compiling a textbook.Nowadays, the Chinese textbooks in Thailand still lack pertinence;there is a misuse condition of textbooks;and the contents are too obsolete. In this thesis, according to the teaching conditions of Chinese in high schools in Thailand, the author chose three widely used textbooks—Experiencing Chinese(Thai Language),Learn Chinese with Me(Thai Language)and Wise-Provoking Chinese as the comparative objects and compared and analyzed pertinence of the textbooks from six aspects involving compiling, texts, vocabulary, grammar, culture and exercises. The above-mentioned textbooks are junior Chinese textbooks compiled for Thai native speakers in high schools. All of them aim to cultivate students' communication ability and inspire their interest in learning, thus forming comparability and similarity. After comparison and research, the author believed that Experiencing Chinese does the best in pertinence, making it a good option for Chinese major students, amateurs and self-learners;Learn Chinese with Me is more suitable for Chinese major students;and Wise-Provoking Chinese is for primary Chinese learners and the author didn't recommend self-learners to resort to this textbook. The author took some teaching experience of Chinese to Thai speakers as the foundation and the pertinence rule in compilation of textbooks as the basis to discuss about advantages and disadvantages of the three textbooks and come up with rational suggestions on improvement.
