The purpose of education is to nurture talents.As a special way of education,Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools aims to cultivate interdisciplinary talents who have international vision and suitable for China's national conditions.However,with the increase in the number of Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions/projects,the number of graduates has increased year by year.In particular,Shanghai,as an international metropolis,the number and scale of Sino-foreign cooperative education are in the leading position,tens of thousands of graduating students graduate from the relevant institutions every year.However,some surveys found that most of these students do not have a clear competitive edge,and seldom reached the standard of international talents.Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to find out the problems in the graduates' cultivating model in Sino-foreign cooperative education in Shanghai and to come up with solutions.The methodologies this paper used are interview method and material analysis method.The introduction of this paper will introduce the background of the current internationalization of higher education and raises the research question in this thesis.Then,it will put forward the deficienciesin current studies by summarizing the achievement of recent researches,thus pointing out the benefits of this research.Finally,the paper will show the research methods and points out the innovations and limitations.The main body of the paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter divides 44 Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions/projects in Shanghai into two types: graftedapplication-orientedtraining mode and integratedapplication-orientedtraining mode.This classification is based on the cooperation degree between both parties.The second chapter analysis the two types of training models in Shanghai after selecting the case.According to the summary of training mode's components,that is,training objectives,training system,training methods and training evaluation,the paper will analysis the characteristics of two types of training modes.The third chapter is based on the resources and interviews to evaluate and compare the result of two types of training models.Then find out the problems and reasons.The last chapter presents the suggestions to consummate the training mode in Shanghai Sino-foreign cooperative education from three aspects: policy,ideology,and system.
