Compared with junior middle school,biology contains more difficult learning contents in senior middle school.When students are in the stage of senior middle school,biology learning depends more on students' attitude,learning and effectiveness.Affected by various reasons,some students did not achieve satisfactory goals after entering the senior middle school.For this reason,research on the transitional teaching between junior middle school and senior middle school has started.It was found that good transitional teaching can help students in adapting themselves to the new circumstances,finding effective learning methods and high interest.According to the compulsory education biology curriculum standards(2011),Biology course ends in the the second-year during the period of junior middle school.In addition,the weight of biology in senior middle school entrance examination is lower than other subjects,even sometimes out of consideration.Less emphasis was placed on biology,resulting in a terrible biology teaching predicament.Senior middle schools start biology teaching from Grade 10,or from Grade 11.Under this circumstances,students perhaps forgot the junior middle school biology knowledge,that is,students start senior middle school biology learning without basis.It is fair unfavorable to the biology learning for the entire middle school period.Therefore,the transitional teaching between biology knowledge in junior middle school and senior middle school is necessary,which can help students reduce anxiety to new biological knowledge,promote students'understanding of new biological knowledge,improve learning interest,cultivate students'biological science literacy and accomplish their training goals.Based on a large number of relevant literature,this study adopted questionnaire survey and interviews methods for understanding the situation of senior middle school's students in terms of biology knowledge,the arrangement of biology teaching of junior middle school and senior middle school.Moreover,the comparison method was used to compared the biology courses standard,ways of learning and teaching and textbooks,between junior middle school and senior middle school,which showed the differences and connections between the two class.In addition,the instructional course design and trial teaching practices of transitional teaching was finished by action research method.The teaching practices results showed that the students which taught by strengthening transitional teaching method improved both learning initiative and learning interest significantly and the learning techniques,mainly reflecting in the gap of scores between two classes.
