Urbanization is a natural historical process accompanied by the development of industrialization,non-agricultural industries gathering in cities and towns, and the concentration of rural population in cities and towns. It is an objective trend of human social development and also an important symbol of national modernization.Urbanization,on the one hand,it refers to the continuous transfer of population to cities and towns, and the number and size of permanent residents in urban areas have increased, that is,population urbanization. On the other hand,it also refers to the expansion of urban areas and the increase in the size of urban areas that is,land urbanization.Population urbanization is the core of urbanization, and land urbanization is the carrier of urbanization. Both them are important components of urbanization.China is currently at a stage of rapid development of urbanization. The urbanization rate continues to increase, the number of cities and towns continues to increase, urban land continues to expand, and the proportion of urban population continues to expand.Based on the basic theory of urbanization, this paper analyzes the time series and spatial pattern of the multi-dimensional coordination relationship between population urbanization and land urbanization in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and proposes policy recommendations from the institutional level, market level, and management level in the Yangtze River Economic Zone,in order to promote the population-land urbanization in the region from the non-coordination to the coordinated development. The research content of this paper is as follows.Firstly,a multi-dimensional coordination evaluation model is constructed based on three aspects of population-land urbanization development:speed coordination, level consistency, and spatial matching.Secondly,it analyzes the spatial-temporal differences of population-land urbanization in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and it analyzes the multi-dimensional coordination level of population-land urbanization in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from the time series and provincial level. Finally, based on theories of economics and management, this paper proposes an optimization approach to promote the coordinated and healthy development of population-land urbanization in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from the aspects of systems, markets, and management. The conclusion of this paper is as follows.Based on the analysis of the time dimension,we know that(1)From 2005 to 2015,the speed coordination of the development of population-land urbanization in the Yangtze River Economic Belt was relatively low,and as a whole, the growth rate of urban population was lower than the growth rate of urban land and the urban land expansion rate should be controlled in the economic zone of the Yangtze River.(2)From 2005 to 2015,the development level of population-land urbanization in the Yangtze River Economic Belt was relatively high, and it showed a steady upward trend.(3)From 2005 to 2015,the spatial matching of population-land urbanization in the Yangtze River Economic Belt region was relatively high, and the spatial matching in the upper and middle reached continued to increase, but the spatial matching in the downstream regions weakened, and it showed a highly matching population concentration in space.Based on the spatial pattern analysis,we know that(1)In 2015,the speed-coordination level of population-land urbanization in most provinces in the Yangtze River Economic Zone was low,and the urban land growth rate was faster than the urban population growth rate, and Hunan Province had the lowest level of speed coordination.(2)In the four years of 2005,2008,2011,and 2015,the urbanization of population in the 11 provinces and cities of the Yangtze River Economic Belt was higher than that of land urbanization. However, the urbanization index of population generally showed a downward trend, and the urbanization of land The index generally showed an upward trend.(3)The overall regional population-land urbanization of the Yangtze River Economic Zone had a high level of spatial matching, and its spatial matching distribution presented a"Northeast-Southwest" pattern, with strong northeast spatial matching, weak southwest spatial matching, and the spatial heterogeneity was obvious. This paper puts forward some policy recommendations:(1)At the institutional level, the household registration reform system should be promoted and an orderly mechanism for transferring agricultural population should be established the market level, should establish a unified urban and rural land market, strengthen city intensive land use.(2)At the market level,a unified land market in urban and rural areas should be constructed to enhance the intensive use of urban land.(3)At the management level,we should promote the differential construction of urbanization development and achieve a balanced development of urbanization.
