This paper introduces the emergence and development of educational games,as well as the advantages and limitations of educational games.It also analyzes and compares the applications of educational games at home and abroad,and predicts the application of educational games to teaching.By means of literature research,interview and action research,we made educational games which are suitable for high school chemistry teaching and carried out teaching experiments.In teaching experiments,educational games played a positive role in improving students' academic performance.A role-playing educational game is designed on the basis of educational requirements,teaching objectives and learning principles proposed by the content of electrochemical corrosion and protection in high school chemistry.In this game,the teaching function of education game is realized by using the name input module,plot module,combat module,problem module and record module these 5 modules.While relying on game editing software,such as map editing,dialogue editing,event editing,etc,we can achieve the purpose of teaching to ensure the game's enjoyment and innovation.Students can finish the exercises before class and after class through plot dialogue and fighting in the games,and we can also finish the correction and circulation of exercises by editing the limb options.As for important knowledge points,students can't continue the game until they answer correctly.Every problem the student solve,can he get some gold and markers,so that we can calculate the correct rate of the student‘s exercises based on his number of gold coins and markers so that we will have a better understanding of the students' learning quality,and also enhance the interaction between teachers and students.Through interviews with students,parents and teachers,we found that most of the interviewees have a supportive attitude towards the application of educational games.Through the teaching experiment,we analyze the two test scores before and after,and draw the conclusion that educational games can improve students' performance.
