With the implementation of teaching materials which is compiled by the Ministry of Education in the whole country,teaching Chinese in primary school has entered a new stage of development.Chinese reading teaching in primary schools is guided by the teaching materials prepared by the Ministry of Education,from curricular reading to extracurricular reading.As an important reading resource,picture books begin to be used in in-class study and after-class study.In teaching,picture books can improve the students' key of language systematic quality and achieve the teaching goal of Chinese reading.In the development of students' physical and mental development,picture books can promote the cultivation of students' multiple intelligence and play a positive role in promoting the healthy development of students and the formation of good character.This study mainly discusses the application of picture books in the teaching of Chinese reading in primary school from some aspects.This study based on the existing studies of picture books,found that the picture books as a single reading resources for study was more complete,but the picture books in Chinese reading teaching and textbook in educational practice was lack of research.Therefore,this paper is based on the principle of intuitive teaching,genetic epistemology and the theory of multiple intelligence,discussing the concept of picture books,the relationship between picture books and Primary Chinese Curriculum and the value of picture books in the low-grade Chinese reading teaching.This paper also expound the relationship between picture books and low-grade of Chinese reading in primary school.Furthermore,the author enquires the current situation of the students in the lower grade of the school via questionnaire,and finds out the problems in reading teaching in the lower grade.Finally,this paper gives some feasible advice in Chinese reading teaching among low-grade students in junior school,especially in thebackground of present situation and the case from the choice of picture books,picture books in class reading and the application of the extracurricular reading.
