Folk culture is a unique cultural phenomenon of a nation, and it is the fundamental and important part of the country's traditional culture. The saying "each place has its own way of supporting its own inhabitants" refers to that each one is surrounded by a certain folklore environment from birth, accepts the influence and restriction of folklore on their behavior, habits and even values. The same goes for the writer. As a writer of folklore,he/she accepts the subtle influence of folk culture.Specific folklore has long been entrenched in the writer's sub-consciousness,influencing the writer's aesthetic and literary view, and restricting the writer's behavior and thinking. Therefore, they often unconsciously write local folklore into literary works,or consciously use folklore for literary creation. The Chinese textbooks in middle schools are integrated with snappy texts. The folklore elements in the texts are particularly rich. These folk elements often play an important role in the expression of the work. The "Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education" and "Ordinary Senior High School Chinese Curriculum Standards" pay attention to the inheritance and absorption of traditional culture. As the most humanistic discipline, the subject of Chinese should shoulder the responsibility of inheriting folk culture.Chinese teachers should fully tap folklore elements in the teaching materials, integrate them into teaching, assist teaching, improve the efficiency of reading teaching, direct students' attention to folk culture, broaden their horizon, enhance their ability to appreciate reading, and promote the formation of core qualities. The core content of this paper is divided into four chapters.Chapter one:First, the concept of "Folk Elements" and its classification are clarified.Second, the texts of middle school Chinese textbooks containing folk elements are divided into three categories according to the author's approach to the processing of folk elements:the text with the theme of folklore;the text using folklore as a clue structure;the text with the unconscious connotation of folklore elements.Chapter two, chapter three and chapter four respectively discusses the folk elements in the ancient poetry, novels, and prose, and their teaching functions. The logical structure of the three chapters is generally the same.Three chapters consist of three sections respectively:In section one,the characteristics of folk elements presented in various genres of selected texts are analyzed; In section two,the representative texts are thoroughly studies and the methods of using folklore elements in the texts are explores; In section three, considerations on how to use folk elements in various literary work to interpret texts, organize classes, and assist teaching are taken based on the methods and rules derived from section two.Studies have shown that ancient poetry writers often use folk imagery,or combine folk imagery and folk objects to convey sentiments about folklore, and use folklore elements to shape their characters.Legends are also used by poetry writers. This type of novels focuses on traditional realism.Liu Shaozhen,Lu Xun,and Shen Congwen are representative writers in this field. They each have a set of theoretical methods that use folklore elements to construct novels. The majority of this type of prose is folklore-based prose and reminiscence prose. They have a thorough and detailed exploration and description of various folklore phenomena.
