We need theoretical guidance and the extraterritorial experience for the application transformation of the local universities.The experience of universities or Technical Colleges in Germany,the United States and Taiwan,suggests that specialized field of study and curriculums of university should be in response to the industry,especially the local industry and create the model of cooperative training talents between schools and enterprises,and especially with the local industrial echoes.However,application-oriented university do not cultivate simple operators,but also promote applied research and strengthen the transformation of scientific research.Experience abroad also reflects that applied transformation is not limited to engineering majors,but there are many applied specialties in the fields of business,social work,law,health care apart from the doctor and nursing.Presently,the application transformation of local universities in China is facing practical difficulties while obtaining preliminary results.As an example,in terms of specialty setting,Z University focuses on applied specialties and "new engineering",and also pays attention to the introduction of double-qualified talents,while introducing ofteachers.Z University begins to pay attention to research projects consigned by enterprises characterized by the application.However,there are many dilemmas,such as many drawbacks in the professional setting,the traditional profession having to remain,some non-application-oriented courses being still reserve,the course setting of the application transformation becoming formalistic and practical courses being not well implemented,and the traditional way of teaching and scientific research still being exist,so on.Furthermore,we must be maintaining the healthy development in the process of the application transformation,which means the inheritance and development of university spirit that is to pursuit of truth,to keep the spirit of thinking,and to strengthen humanistic concern.Both the research universities and the applied universities bear the responsibility of inheriting and developing the spirit of the University,and of cultivating thesound personality for undergraduates.
