Orderly expansion of citizens' political participation is not only an essential requirement of socialism, but also an important way to realize people's democracy. It is of great significance to promote the modernization of our country's governance system and governance capacity and community construction, and to achieve residents'autonomy. Therefore, improving the political participation of citizens is not only the focus of government departments, but also a hot topic in the academic community.Since the reform and opening up,our government has issued a series of policies and measures that have effectively expanded the political participation of our citizens. However, due to historical and practical reasons, the political participation rate of our citizens is still low.In this regard, the academic community has conducted extensive and in-depth research, and existing studies have mainly explained the reasons for the low level of political participation of Chinese citizens from the perspective of macro-socioeconomic development and micro-individual characteristics, and lack of discussion from the meso-level perspective. In fact, the community is the main place of daily life of citizens and has an important influence on their behavior.Studies have shown that social work in the community can increase the social capital of individuals and communities and increase the citizens' ability to participate in public affairs. Therefore, community social work may improve citizens' political participation and promote self-government.Based on this, this paper sets up the analysis framework from the social capital and the theory of empowerment, and discusses the influencing factors of democratic election voting of the grass-roots citizens in China from the perspective of community.Based on the data from the China Family Panel Studies 2014,a binary Logistic model was constructed to analyze the impact of community social work on civil elections for democratic elections at the grassroots level, and the heterogeneity of the impact of democratic elections on citizen communities in different household registration and residence locations. In addition, this article further explores the relationship between the social system of community social work and informal social trust in the impact of democratic election voting at the grassroots level. It was found that community social work can effectively promote the participation of citizens in grassroots democratic elections. The more professional social workers in the community, the greater the probability that the community's citizens participate in democratic elections at the grassroots level and the impact on the democratic election of rural residents(regions)in the community.Bigger.It is further discovered that the social and social systems of the community have an alternative effect on the impact of social trust on citizens'participation in grassroots democratic elections. However, they are mainly substitutes for general trust in social trust and have no effect on special trust. This study not only expands the research field of the influencing factors of democratic election in China, but also provides empirical evidence for accelerating the construction of social work talents in our country, promoting grassroots social governance and community building, and realizing residents' autonomy.
