Liberal State Handouts " is a textbook applied for teenagers' self-study in the Republic of China which has a total of 131 selections.Most of the selected texts in this middle school Chinese textbook of People's Education Press are retained in the modern Chinese textbooks of high school,which not only embodies its foresight,but also shows the editor's unique vision and profound language skills.The first chapter explores the background,purpose and significance of the book from the “Liberal State Handouts”itself,and probes into the compilation of the textbook through the editors' educational ideas.The second chapter compares "Liberal State Handouts" with the high school Chinese textbooks of People's Education Press.Through the comparison of the curriculum standard,the selection system and the annotation system,we find the difference between them,and explore the better "Liberal State Handouts " than the high school Chinese textbooks of People's Education Press.The third chapter,through the questionnaire and the interview feedback,points out the shortcomings in the actual use of the current high school Chinese textbooks of People's Education Press.At the same time,it aims to find out the corresponding solutions from the " Liberal State Handouts ".Finally,learn the shortcomings and highlights of "Liberal State Handouts" in the views of the teachers on the front through interviewing them,to achieve an objective andcomprehensive view of the textbook.It is concluded that the cultural and systematic features of texts of the " Liberal State Handouts " can provide some suggestions for the high school Chinese textbooks of People's Education Press.
