At present, the competition of innovative talents is fierce.Being the source of future innovative talents, the good thinking characteristics in thinking and solving problems are the main reasons for their excellent learning and continuous progress. What kind of mathematical thinking characteristics do they have and what are the influencing factors for the group of excellent students? It is quite worth finding out how to take effective measures to improve the teaching effect in accordance with these characteristics. In this paper, based on the example of Foshan Huaying school, which is my school,I made an empirical study with three test questions and one questionnaire on the students of the three grades of junior high school, and analyzed the results of the investigation, and found that the top junior students were excellent in metacognition,concentration,persistence,rigor,self-confidence,curiosity,openness,exploration,independence and creativity,These ten thinking characteristics and are all outstanding. And this is the important reasons for their high learning efficiency and excellent academic performance.Meanwhile,I interviewed and some of the teachers in my school and analysised of some of the top students and I found that the junior high school students have good mathematical thinking characteristics. This paper shows what I have found and the fact that students have different levels in thinking characteristics. With the findings of the survey, the paper analyzes the influential factors of mathematical thinking characteristics of junior high school students, including family, society, schools and their own aspects. It also puts forward strategies and suggestions for developing students' good thinking characteristics in teaching.
