As the core and main body of language,vocabulary is not only the bridge between "words" and "sentences",but also the basis of students' "reading" and "writing",which plays a great role in improving students' Chinese literacy.In recent years,along with the proposed "humanism" characteristic of Chinese course,the "tool" characteristic of Chinese course declines gradually.Among them,as the strong "instrumental" teaching content,vocabulary is gradually ignored by the main body of education,resulting in the fact that the vocabulary teaching is inefficient or ineffective.The fundamental cause comes from the bias of vocabulary teaching content.Namely,teachers do not know "what to teach" and students do not know "what to study".As an important teaching content of Chinese in primary school,vocabulary cannot be ignored.Therefore,this thesis make an attempts to explore the teaching contents of Chinese vocabulary in primary schools with the aim to explore the question of "what to teach" in Chinese vocabulary teaching in primary schools.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:The introduction part mainly explains the reason and significance of the research.It summarizes the achievements of the predecessors on vocabulary teaching from many aspects,including its importance,the contents,the principles,the methods,the evaluation,and the teaching materials.It also clarifies the concepts of "vocabulary" and "vocabulary teaching",and expounds the research methods of this thesis.The text part includes three chapters as follows:The first chapter mainly explains the motivation of the research on the contents of Chinese Vocabulary Teaching in Primary Schools.It combs and analyzes the contents of Chinese teaching materials in primary schools(PEP edition)concretely from the target and contents of vocabulary teaching contents,teaching suggestion,evaluation suggestion of the Chinese Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2011 edition)as well as from the number of words,the vocabulary presentation method,and the source of vocabulary in order to clarify the contents of Chinese vocabulary teaching in primary schools from the level of curriculum standards and textbooks.The second chapter explores the teaching contents of Chinese vocabulary in primaryschools.Starting from the Three-Dimensional goal of Chinese literacy,it mainly explores the contents of vocabulary teaching from the knowledge and ability level,the process and method level,and the level of emotion,attitude and values.The author holds that the vocabulary teaching contents of at the level of knowledge and ability include the pronunciation of vocabulary,the type of vocabulary,and the meaning of vocabulary;the teaching content of process and method is to foster students' vocabulary learning habits and teach students the methods for vocabulary learning;the teaching contents at the level of emotional attitude and values is to foster students' interests in vocabulary learning as well as the cultural connotation in vocabulary learning.The third chapter focuses on the evaluation and analysis of the teaching contents of the primary language vocabulary.This chapter selects two Chinese special-grade teachers' teaching records of Yu Yongzheng and Wang Songzhou—A Frightened Bird and The Mother's Love,mainly conducting the evaluation and analysis in the contents of vocabulary teaching.The conclusion part summarizes the main findings of this research,reconsiders the limitation of this research,and puts forward the prospects for the further research.
