Research Of Student Affairs Management In Private Vocational Colleges From The Perspective Of System Theory

Vocational education is the important organic part of citizen education system.Great importance attached to vocational education by the nation has afforded opportunities to the private vocational colleges,at the same time,fierce competition also has made strong lash to it.Because student affairs management is vital to attract students and maintain students for private vocational colleges,also student affairs is very important to the development of students' quality,it is necessary to have a systematic reflection of private vocational colleges' student affairs management according to the era and the reality.System theory gives us a holistic and effective analysis method to resolve problems.Under the angle of system theory,this dissertation regards the student affairs management of private vocational colleges as an open system,and builds analytical framework from two dimensions of goals and key elements(ideas,subjects,objects,carriers)in a system.On the basis of the content analysis of the goals and key elements for the private vocational colleges' student affairs management,this dissertation selected seven typical examples including Guangzhou Baiyun Industrial &Commericial and Technician Institute to explore the problems on the aspects of the goals and key elements through empirical investigation,which found that there were many problems in the private vocational colleges' student affairs' managements such as the determination of goals were unclear,ideas could not keep up with the needs of development,the staffs' professional abilities were weak,students' loss were relatively serious,the organizational structure was required to be optimized and the management system was required to be improved.Used the basic characteristics of integrity,purpose,hierarchy,relevance,environmental adaptability and dynamic balance in the system theory,this dissertation analyzed the reasons of the problems.To build the index system,the factors that affect the optimization of student affairs management system in private vocational colleges were divided into five categories: target,idea,subject,object,carrier.Each category below was subdivided into two levels.After that,this dissertation used the analytic hierarchy process to analyze the system optimization program,and calculated the weight of the five countermeasures,and then used the specific application effect analysis to check the validity of the countermeasures.Finally,by using the concept and method of system theory,this dissertation put forward some countermeasures as follows: clear management objectives andimprove management contents;grasp the open trait and change ideas;strengthen the orderly management and build the management team;pay attention to feedback control and adapt to the needs of students;optimize the organization structure and innovate the management system.
