STEAM is an educational initiative first proposed by the United States.It is an acronym for the English word "science",which is derived from the STEM education proposed by the United States in the 1980 s.The United States government attaches great importance to the development of STEAM education,increasing investment and setting it as a basic education strategy.The purpose of developing STEAM education is to improve the STEAM literacy of workers and improve the national competitiveness.Most schools have special STE AM laboratories,different laboratories have different instruments and equipment to complete different projects.Typical projects such as Greenwich College STEAM Lab include laser cutting,dinosaur exploration,wood processing and 3D scanning printing.The research on STEAM education in China shows a rising trend year by year.Many schools in Beijing and Shanghai have set up STEAM education sites and developed various STEAM courses.STEAM education is a project-based learning that makes explicit the knowledge that needs to be acquired.Through the completion of the work to master the relevant knowledge,improve the ability to solve problems.In the "think and do" and "hands-on brain physics" textbooks,there are also specific requirements for students' self-made works,but in the production activities required in the completion of the textbooks,Teachers tend to focus their attention on students' understanding and mastery of relevant physical knowledge,while neglecting the comprehensive application of technology,engineering,art and mathematics to guide students in the production process.It only requires "do",not "how","how","do it" Good or bad,make "do" study activity lost a lot of meaningful things.The author thinks that "small production" in physics is essentially a STEAM educational activity,and it is not necessary to spend financial and material resources to set up separate courses.The purpose of this study is to make use of extracurricular small production activities to integrate STEAM education concept into junior high school physics teaching,in order to promote students' interest in learning physics knowledge while understanding and flexibly applying physics knowledge.The practical ability and the comprehensive application of multi-disciplinary knowledge to solve problems can be improved.This article mainly uses the literature method,the investigation method,the interview method and the work appraisal method and so on.In the small production activities of physics into the STEAM educational concept,focusing on guiding students to understand the principles of physics,the design of works,the use of tools and the pursuit of perfection.After four months of practical research,the analysis of the data collected from the questionnaire and the evaluation works shows that the activity has obvious effect on arousing students' interest in learning physics,improving students' practical ability and problem-solving ability.
