Study On Rural Middle School Physics Teachers' Occupational Happiness And Its Influencing Factors

The development of a country depends on education,and the development of education depends on teachers.Teachers' occupational happiness has a great influence on education.Based on the Theory of Expectation and the Theory of Social Comparison and Values,this thesis studies the occupational happiness of physics teachers in rural middle school,in order to understand the occupational happiness of physics teachers in middle school of rural areas,and improve the quality of physics teaching in rural middle schools.The study is divided into several processes.First of all,we determined the framework of this study.Secondly,based on the theories and relevant research instruments,we designed a scale for measuring occupational happiness of physical teachers at rural middle schools.Then,we used questionnaires to investigate teachers' background information and the influence of school "software" factors.Next,we investigated the influence of teachers' professional training opportunities by means of social network analysis.And finally interview was conducted to collect backup information.35 rural physics teachers in Guangdong Province and 13 rural physics teachers in Guangxi Province participated in the investigation,so totally 48 teachers participated in this study.The results show that:at present,the occupational happiness of physics teachers in rural middle school is higher;but the teachers who were involved in the study believethat teachers' social status is low,81.3% of the teachers are not satisfied with the salary income,and 75% of the teachers are not satisfied with the current school management system,and the primary reason for the lack of happiness is the tedious and mechanical work;the happiest time for teachers to work is from the first five years of teaching;male teachers have more happiness than female teachers;education level,professional title,teaching experience,income,whether the leaders of physics teachers or excellent teachers are positively related to occupational happiness;age,school management position,number of teaching classes,and homeroom teacher are negatively associated with occupational happiness,in which there is a significantly negative correlation between age and occupational happiness.Whether in schools students are intentionally assigned into high-competency and low-competency classes,whether physics experiments are set up,as well as the allocation of physics experiment teachers,have great influence on teachers' occupational happiness.Finally,we will give some suggestions on the results of the study,in order to improve the quality of physics teaching in rural areas and follow-up research.
