Objective: Boxing is a technical-dominated and confrontational sport with field combats.Under the guidance of established rules and tactics,athletes compete in various aspects such as physical fitness,skills,energy and intelligence,so the boxer needs more comprehensive physical quality and emergency ability.At present,the training methods of the Young Boxing Team of the Athletic Sports School of Xi'an Physical Education University are mainly based on traditional physical training.Athletes lack of physical flexibility,stability,coordination and core strength,and they are troubled by sports injuries.The purpose of this study is to combine athletes' traditional training with functional training to improve athletes' physical fitness and reduce sports injuries.Through empirical study,it analyzes and discusses the functional mechanism and characteristics of functional training,and provides reference for innovation of boxing training methods and ideas.Methods: 24 elite athletes from the Athletic Sports School of Xi'an Physical Education University were selected as the subjects.They were randomly divided into two groups before the training,12 in the experimental group and 12 in the control group,both of whom carried out training of 12 weeks from Sept.2017 to Nov.2017.The former adopts functional training and the latter traditional strength training.The training load and duration of two groups are close,three times a week,and 90 min each time.The rest of the special training is consistent.24 athletes were tested for physical fitness before and after the experiment.The test indicators include: FMS test,Y balance test,and physical quality(Standing long jump,bench press,barbell full squat,1min pushups,1min sandbag punching,30 s flat push barbell,hexagon jump,and 3min single roll).Routine descriptive statistics were performed on the experimental data with SPSS21.0 statistical software.Independent sample T test was performed for comparison between the two groups,and the paired sample T test was carried out between the results of the two groups,with P<0.05 as the significant level.Results:(1)The athletes of experimental group have improved significantly after twelve weeks' functional training.As to the FMS test,in deep squat,it improved obviously(P<0.01)by 20.66% after the test(2.92±0.289)compared to that before the test(2.42±0.515).In hurdle step,it improved obviously(P<0.001)by 34.56% after the test(2.92±0.289)compared to that before the test(2.17±0.389).In trunk stable pushup,it improved obviously(P<0.01)by 33.5% after the test(2.67±0.492)compared to that before the test(2 ± 0.603).In spin stabilization(left),it improved obviously(P<0.001)by 37.5% after the test(2.75±0.452)compared to that before the test(2±0.426).As to the test result of control group,only the data of hurdle step(left)and trunk stable pushup improved obviously,with the increased rate lower than 5% and the significance was lower than that of the experimental group(P<0.05).Other FMS test indexes didn't change significantly after the test.(2)In Y balance test,the test index of the upper limb(left)of athletes improved obviously(P<0.01)by 9.6% after the test(95.5±6.302)compared to that before the test(104.67±9.391).The lower limb(right)improved obviously(P<0.05)by 5.13%after the test(86.527±7.434)compared to that before the test(82.306±6.977).The test indexes of the control group didn't change significantly after the test.(3)In the physical quality test,the index of 30 s flat push barbell improved obviously(P<0.001)by 22.48% after the test(50.83±8.40)compared to that before the test(41.5±8.83).1min push-up improved obviously(P<0.001)by 12.06% after the test(52.67±6.47)compared to that before the test(47±8.92).Hexagon jump improved obviously(P<0.001)by 11.94% after the test(11.78±0.86)compared to that before the test(13.38 ± 1.08).1min sandbag punching improved obviously(P<0.01)by 15.24% after the test(185.25±36.48)compared to that before the test(160.75 ± 42.82).As to the test indexes of control group,1min sandbag punching improved obviously(P<0.05)by 8.98% after the test(144.58±18.68)compared to that before the test(132.67 ± 28.11),significantly lower than the growth of experimental group(P<0.05).30 s flat push barbell improved obviously(P<0.05)by10.10% after the test(40.5±5.59)compared to that before the test(36.33±6.72),significantly lower than the growth of experimental group.Hexagon jump(s)improved obviously(P<0.05)by 6.75% after the test(12.91±1.11)compared to that before the test(13.84 ± 1.76),significantly lower than the growth of experimental group(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)After 12 weeks of training,the experimental group adopted functional training.As to the overall effect of improving functional action,the significant change was more obvious than the traditional physical training of the control group.Athletes' joint flexibility,trunk stability,stability in unstable conditions,and flexibility improved significantly.(2)After the training,the physical quality of the athletes in the experimental group has been improved significantly,especially in 30 s flat push barbell(times/min),1min pushup(times/min),hexagonal jump(s),1min sandbag punching(times/min),and standing jump(m).The improvement of performance has proved that after 12 weeks of functional training,the explosive power of the upper limbs,flexibility and core stability of athletes in the experimental group have been greatly improved.The athletes' performance improved less in the control group and the increase was also lower than that of the experimental group.So the functional training is effective in improving the physical quality of the boxers.(3)After the training,compared with the control group,the indexes and physical quality of the athletes in the experimental group were improved more significantly.The experiment shows that the functional training is effective in improving the physical quality of the boxers.
