With the further development of quality education,students' independent reading ability will gain more attention.And it also plays a very important role in the investigation of students' reading.In Huidong County which is located in the remote west of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture,the situation of students' extracurricular Chinese reading of minority primary and middle school has not attracted enough attention.In order to understand the situation and its influencing factors of students' extracurricular Chinese reading of minority middle school in Huidong County,this thesis used the methods of observation,literature reading,questionnaires and personal interviews to investigate the basic personal information of minority middle school students,minority middle school students' views on Chinese,minority middle school students' purposes,interests,environment,habits,reading amount,origins and types of Chinese extracurricular reading and so on.The investigation shows that minority middle school students who love Chinese and Chinese reading are strongly eager to get guidance when they are reading.The environment of Chinese reading in school is also unceasingly being improved.At the same time,there are still some problems.Minority middle school students' social reading conditions and family reading conditions are relatively bad.Their Chinese reading time and reading quantity are relatively small,and their reading habits need to be corrected.In the face of these problems,based on the current social environment and actual educational conditions of Huidong County,the author put forward the improvement strategies as follows: For schools,they should create scholarly campus,do a good job in opening and managing the campus libraries,build a good classroom reading corner and do other measures well to create the scholarly Chinese reading environment on campus.For families,they should create a good family reading environment by increasing the number of Chinese books in family and enhancing the roles as parents in the Chinese reading of minority children.For society,they should optimize the social reading environment of minority students with the methods of organizing Chinese Minority Students Reading Festival,establishing Chinese Minority Students Reading Guidance Committee,setting up Minority Students Reading Foundation,and regularizing rules and regulations made by relevant departments on the public reading places and so on.Meanwhile,it's necessary to improve Chinese Teachers' level of reading instruction,ensure the time and quantity of students' extracurricular Chinese reading of minority middle school,and provide effective extracurricular Chinese reading strategies for them.Hope that these recommendations can provide theoretical and practical reference for the students' extracurricular Chinese reading guidance of the minority middle school.
