The most notable characteristic of geography is the spatiality,regional and comprehensiveness which determines that geography class cannot be separated from the geographical images,but should be a combination of geographical images and characters.From the college entrance examination questions in the recent years,most of them choose geographical images as background materials,and exam students through graphic combination.Different from the traditional teaching mode,the new curriculum standard also emphasizes the training of students' ability in teaching.The characteristics of subject and the college entrance examination questions and the requirements of curriculum determine the important position of geographical image in geography learning,Therefore,High school geography teaching should highlight the importance of geographical image and cultivate students' ability of extracting geographic image information.The literature research,questionnaire survey,case analysis,observation and experimental method are used in the article.After presenting the research background and significance,this paper analyzes the present situation of the research on the geographical image and the teaching model of graph guidance at home and abroad.In the main body of the thesis,Firstly,it investigates and analyzes the current situation of the cultivation of the ability to extract geographical image information and finds the reasons on of middle school students.Through the testing of the students' geographic information extraction ability and the analysis of the present situation of the teachers' teaching.and finds the reasons for the weak extraction ability of geographic image information are: students are insecure about basic knowledge,students' ability to think in geography is weak,students did not master the correct method of reading pictures,the teaching method of teachers is not matched with the training of students' image information extraction ability.In view of the above reasons,this paper puts forward the teaching mode of graph guidance.Based on the detailed analysis of the background and theoretical basis of teaching mode guided by graph,the connotation of graph guidance is defined as: it is a new teaching mode that use geographic images to present textbook knowledge,around the geographic images,use the way of questioning,encourages students to think independently or discuss cooperatively,and guides students to read,analyze,use and draw purposefully in class.Under the guidance of the theory,the teaching process of graph-guided teaching mode is designed as four links,and the characteristics and application scope of the teaching mode are analyzed.Then,combined with the above theoretical knowledge,a teaching case of graph-guidedteaching model is designed.Finally,the experimental subjects are students from two classes in the first grade of the Baita Middle School,the teaching experiment of the teaching mode of graph guidance is carried out.This paper analyzes and evaluates the teaching experiment of using graph-guided teaching model to train students' ability of geographic image information extraction,and concludes that the teaching model of graphic guidance is beneficial to the cultivation of students' ability of geographical image extraction.By comparing the results of the experimental class and the control class,we can find that the teaching model of graph guidance is beneficial to the cultivation of students' ability of geographic image extraction.It is conducive to the development of students' subjectivity,making the classroom atmosphere more active;To develop students' creativity and broaden their thinking;Making students more interested in geography and geographic images.
