The New Curriculum Standards strongly advocate the independent,cooperative and inquiry-based learning approaches,of which cooperative learning can not only help students establish a good moral value,but also stimulate students’ enthusiasm in learning and create an active classroom atmosphere with teacher-student interactions.To study the application of cooperative learning in high school politics teaching in three secondary schools in Chongzhou,the author went into the schools for corresponding surveys on students and interviews with teachers,expecting to discover the application of cooperative learning in high school politics teaching in these schools,to find out about the scores and problems,to analyze causes for the problems and to propose the countermeasures.On the basis of an in-depth understanding of the relevant theories of cooperative learning and grasping of the connotation of cooperative learning and high school ideological and political education,through questionnaire,interview and other methods,the author first analyzed the current situation of cooperative learning’s application in high school politics teaching in the three secondary schools in Chongzhou;after that,the author described the problems existing in the application of cooperative learning in ideological and political teaching in high schools and explored the reasons behind on such basis,which were concluded into two aspects: problems at the teachers’ level and problems at the students’ level,specifically as follows: Lack of advanced teaching theories as the guidance of teachers,improper selection of the content of cooperative learning by teachers,rather random grouping methods adopted by teachers,behind-time guidance and unilateral comment from teachers;lack of cooperative consciousness and skills of students,students’ unable to perform good peer and self-assessment,etc.According to these reasons,the author further proposed the countermeasures,which were also concluded into two aspects: the countermeasures at the teachers’ level and the countermeasures at the students’ level,specifically as follows: teachers shall improve their theoretical accomplishment,choose appropriate content of cooperative learning,adopt scientific grouping methods,follow the basic principles of design of cooperative learning,improve the level of counseling and enrich the form of cooperative learningactivities;students shall increase the consciousness and skills of cooperation,be clear about responsibilities and the division of work,perform good self-assessment and peer-assessment,etc.In the end,with the cooperative learning on a certain ideological politics class in a high school as the example,the author presented the summary and reflection.It is expected that this paper could contribute to the effective settlement of problems existing in the cooperative learning in high school ideological and political teaching,improve the level of application of cooperative learning in high school ideological and political teaching and better deploy the advantages and strengths of cooperative learning.
