The quality of Chinese textbooks mainly depends on the texts.Choosing good texts is the key to ensuring the quality of textbooks.However,the selection of a text in textbooks is influenced by many factors.During the period of the New Culture Movement,influenced by Western ideas of democracy,science,and pragmatism,the writers of some Chinese textbooks promoted new cultures and new ideas.In conjunction with many publishing houses,new developments have been made in the selection and arrangement of textbooks.Innovation is not only reflected in the content of the selection of Chinese textbooks,the language of the selected texts,and the subject matter of the selected texts,but also reflected in the innovation of Chinese language education concepts and educational thoughts,all of which have injected new vitality into the preparation of textbooks during the period of the Republic of China..This paper is mainly published in the Republic of China by the Commercial Press in 1920 published "Vernacular Wen Fan" and published in 1924 published "New School System Junior High School Chinese textbooks",and published in 1924 Zhonghua Publishing House published "new high school textbook primary Mandarin "Readers" three sets of Chinese textbooks for the study.Combining the writing and use of the New Culture Movement and the textbooks at that time,a comprehensive review of the text selection system for these three sets of national textbooks was conducted in order to have a clearer understanding of the criteria for the selection of Chinese contemporary textbooks at the time and to use history as a guideline.The principle of ancient and modern use sums up the historical experience and reference of textbook selection in this period.This paper mainly includes four parts:The first part mainly analyzes and analyzes the influence of the influence of the New Culture Movement on the selection of Chinese textbooks in the beginning of the period.It understands the vernacular movement and literary revolution,the new school system and the curriculum standards for junior middle schools,the review of textbooks,and the promotion of cultural celebrities.The Influence of John Dewey 's Pragmatism Education Thought on the Selection of Three Sets of New Chinese Textbooks.The second part is the establishment of the system for the selection of three sets of textbooks,the arrangement of content,the distribution of difficulties,the presentation of annotations,and the lifestyle,national,world,moral,and science of the selected texts.Analyze topics and other aspects to understand what changes they have under the influence of the New Culture Movement.The third part mainly compares and compares the characteristics of the texts of the three sets of junior Chinese textbooks,focusing on the content,language,genre and source of the texts.Comparative analysis of the texts of this period shows the influence of the new culture movement.What are the outstanding features.On the basis of the analysis of the above sections,the fourth section further considers some of the thought-provoking aspects of textbook selection under the influence of the New Culture Movement.Textbooks in this period have paid more attention to the cultivation of ideas in the concept of the texts;the principle of giving priority to the students in the selection of texts is more prominent;in terms of the value orientation of the texts,they follow the direction of the text.However,there are also some problems that need to be considered.For example,the proportion of new literary works in textbooks is too large.Individual writers' works are too concentrated and they are re-elective.
