In the 60 s of last century,Ausubel put forward the strategy of "advance organizer" which was accepted quickly by educators.With the development of the research,the strategy is becoming perfected whose research object has been expanded ranging from basic education to higher education,preschool education,occupation education and special education.Now the advance organizer strategy has been applied to classroom teaching,teaching materials and other fields.The previous researches of advance organizer strategy are mostly focused on these disciplines with strong logic,such as biology,physics,mathematics and so on.It has been proved that advance organizer strategy is scientific,reasonable and effective applied to these subjects.However,it is less that research the application of advance organizer strategy on comprehensive subjects,such as Chinese.As a basic subject,Chinese plays an vital role for the students of junior high school.More importantly,Chinese reading has a decisive impact on it.Therefore improving the efficiency of Chinese reading teaching is worth further research.The research of the application of the " advance organizer" strategy on Chinese reading teaching of junior high school will be analyzed theoretically and practically in the following five parts.The first part expounds the theoretical foundation of the advance organizer,and defines the related concepts of reading teaching and "advance organizer",which paves the foundation for the future research.The second part elaborates the characteristics of the strategy and the teaching of Chinese reading as well as the correlation between the two.In the third part,questionnaire and interview are used as the experimentalinstruments to get the real situation of current Chinese reading in junior high school which offers necessary research materials.In the fourth part,the research is analyzed from the design program and the application program.In the author's viewpoint,in the design program,the analysis of new knowledge students learnt should be put in the first place,and the design is prepared from two aspects of students and learning content,and then a suitable selection of the advance organizer is made according to the specific circumstances,which determines an appropriate strategy to use.In terms of application,the author adopts the advance organizer mode proposed by Joyce.According to the mode,the advance organizer is put forward first which is followed by the task or material to learn.Finally,the principle of overall coordination is used to strengthen the cognitive structure system.In the fifth part,the effectiveness of the strategy in Chinese reading teaching of junior high school is proved by the initial test,the timely test and the delayed test.A questionnaire about the strategy was conducted in the experimental class involving students' interest,achievement and migration ability of the strategy.In the sixth part,a few of suggestion are given to the teaching of Chinese reading,teachers and students in order to avoid the deficiencies of the experiment in the further research.At the end of the paper,the conclusions of this research are summarized as well as the shortcomings and the prospect of applying this strategy to Chinese reading teaching of junior high school is forecasted.
