The key to the development of preschool education lies in teachers.As an integral part of preschool teachers,preschool male teachers' professional development level is not only related to the overall quality of themselves and all preschool teachers,but also has a positive significance in attracting more male teachers to participate in preschool education and promoting the comprehensive and healthy development of preschool children in the future.Initial stage is the beginning stage of teachers' career and the key transition period for novice teachers to change their status from students to teachers.Therefore,they can not fully adapt to the work of kindergarten education and teaching.There are widespread difficulties in adapting and developing,and they need self-satisfaction and external help urgently.Whether teachers' professional development needs can be met at this stage will seriously affect their future career attitudes,career trends and professional development.Therefore,from the perspective of professional development needs,it is of great significance to promote the professional development of newly recruited preschool male teachers.Teacher Y,a newly recruited preschool male teacher,is taken as the research subject,he is engaged in front-line preschool education.In addition,the methods of literature,interview and observation are used to study their professional development needs,focusing on the research of Y teacher's professional development needs from two aspects: internal professional literacy needs and external professional help and support needs.The study found that Y teachers have diverse needs in professional concepts,professional knowledge,professional competence,and material resources and so on.What's more,their internal professional literacy needs have been met to a certain extent,while the external professional assistance and support needs have been partially met.At the same time,Y teachers' professional development needs still have the following problems: firstly,they do not fully understand their own internal professional literacy needs,such as ignoring the continuous updating and learning ofnatural science knowledge and social science knowledge,ignoring the creation and utilization of psychological environment,incentives and evaluation capabilities to be improved;secondly,external professional assistance and support and Y teachers' professional development needs matching degree need to be improved,such as the absence of excellent instructors,the lack of free time,the hardware facilities of the kindergarten need to be improved.Facing the existing problems,the author finds that the main influencing factors are the level of teachers' professional development stage,the help and shortage provided by kindergartens,the financial input of government departments and the overall educational level of kindergarten teachers.Finally,in view of the existing problems and their causes,this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve internal professional literacy and external professional assistance and support to ensure the professional development needs of newly recruited preschool male teachers.
