The development of the core literacy framework for Chinese students not only conform to the trend of international education development,but also are the urgent requirement of national talent development.Different disciplines develop different key competencies,similarly,the implementation of theme class meeting in primary school also plays an important role in the development of student's key competencies.Thus,it is necessary to investigate the current situation of theme class meeting and explore the new requirements and methods of primary school theme class meeting based on the perspective of key competencies.This study explores the characteristics of primary school theme class meeting under the guidance of key competencies and based on Kohlberg's moral cognitive development theory,Erickson's psychosocial development theory,group psychology theory and Lewin's group dynamics theory,which shows theme class meeting has distinctive themes,novel contents and forms of activities and multilateral interaction.The primary school theme class meeting is an important carrier to cultivate students' key competencies,a significant bond to enhance class cohesion,and also an effective way to promote the overall development of each student.It can be seen that the primary school theme class meeting not only plays an important role in the individual development of students,but also improves the professional ability of teachers and promotes the implementation of moral education in schools.During the research,questionnaire survey and interview are used,at the same time,supplemented by literature research.From three dimensions of culture,autonomy and sociality,the questionnaire is framed to inquire higher grades' students from two primary schools of Chongqing about the effect of theme class meetings on key competencies.Meanwhile,the current situation of designing and completing in the primary school higher grades of theme class meetings about developing key competencies is understood through in-depth interviews with 15 primary school teachers.The survey results show that the overall effect on the activity about two primary schools higher grades of theme class meeting in Chongqing is in the middle or above level,and some teachers do not have a good understanding of the thematic class meetings and key competencies,the content of theme class meeting is not comprehensive enough,the inferior effectivity of organizing and implementing class meeting and the low level cultural development of students,and a small number of students have less gains in primary school theme class meeting.Therefore,this study combines the requirements of key competencies,and puts forward five countermeasures to improve the primary school theme class meeting from these aspects: the educational ideology of teachers,the selection of theme,the design of content,the organization,implementation and the whole advancement of the class meeting.Teachers should change their ideas,understand key competencies,and attach importance to theme class meetings;the selection of theme and the design content should relate closely with key competencies,making sure students' key competencies can be developed after the theme class meeting.
