As the main means of Chinese teaching,Chinese textbooks not only transf-er cultural knowledge to students,but also influence the value orientation of students imperceptibly.The value orientation of primary school students is still in its infancy,so this period needs both humanism and instrumental Chinese textbooks to play its guiding function of value orientation.However,textbooks are often the embodiment of the national mainstream ideology,so the study of the value orientation contained in the primary school Chinese textbooks is of great importance to better play its value guidance function in the future.This paper takes the two versions of primary school Chinese textbooks as the object of study,,and uses the methods of literature analysis and content analysis to determine the research framework from the perspective of value orientation and then make one by one comparative study one by one from the child orientation,life orientation,modern orientation,literary orientation and classical orientation.Through the statistical analysis,in terms of the child orientation,the PEP version tends to the adult orientation while the Kang Xuan version obviously tends to child orientation;with respect to literary orientation,PEP Edition pays more attention to the literariness of reading selection.In the classical and modem orientations,the PEP version containe both while Kangxuan version emphasizes the modern orientation;In the light of life orientation,Kangxuan version is inclined to the current life situation of children.In view of the above conclusion,the author provides the following suggestions for the compilation of the value orientation of the two editions of Chinese textbooks:The reading selection should highlight the orientation of children and the interest of the content;enrich the themes and genres of literary selections;The reading selection should pursue the balance between classic and modern orientation and return to the children’s real world of life.
